DigitalParenting.ie site was founded by Evan Mangan – a dad with three sons who are avid users of technology.
He delivers Digital Marketing training courses throughout Ireland and he also advises schools on their use of digital media. Evan developed his digital media expertise in London where he was Head of European Marketing for Yahoo! Mobile, Head of Customer and New Media marketing at Orange and Head of Direct Marketing at BT. He has extensive experience of digital marketing across web and mobile covering the Irish, UK and European markets. He also runs a digital media agency called The Marketing Crowd with clients throughout Ireland.
Evan created the Digital Parenting site because in the digital marketing training courses he continuously meets parents who;
- Don’t know how to restrict access to explicit content on the home wifi or their kids mobiles – many parents think that parental controls on a PC was sufficient.
- Don’t know what specific advice relating to social media accounts they should be giving their kids in order to protect them from being cyber bullied.
- Are becoming increasing worried that their kids are becoming addicted to technology and are unsure what to do about it.
